Who We Are
Representation
Determined on a case-by-case basis, the Victims of Crime Resource Center may be able to offer limited representation to victims of crime. Through this service, victims will be able to receive assistance from attorneys in exercising their rights at various stages in the criminal justice process (pre-trial, trial and post-trial). Our mission is to seek to protect victims' rights in the following areas:
- Information and notice of the criminal proceeding
- Be treated fairly and with respect
- Be present during criminal proceedings
- Be heard by the judge through a victim's impact statements
- Seek protection from harassment or intimidation,
- Privacy,
- Prompt disposition of the case, and
- Restitution for economic loss to the victim
