Who We Are
GBLA provides counsel and advice, brief services, and/or representation in an array of core areas of practice to low income and seniors residing in Kern County. GLA does not assist in criminal matters or small claims issues.
To be eligible for services, individuals must reside in Kern County, meet income and asset guidelines, and present
a legal problem within the GBLA core areas of practice. Services are initially accessed by telephone Monday
through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon and from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m., excluding major holidays. Residents of Kern
County should call 661-325-5943 (888-292-4252 toll free & CA Relay Service). Our staff can screen your matter for
eligibility, provide brief counsel and advice, and make appropriate referrals, without your leaving home or work for
an initial consultation. Eligible clients with more complex legal matters are then referred to a staff attorney or
hearing paralegal for further assistance and representation.
