If you have been served an eviction visit a BASTA office near you. No appointment is necessary, clients are seen on a first-come, first-serve basis. We take walk-ins during business hours at any of our locations. Bring your lease, any notices you have received and any other documents. Please note we can't offer legal advice over the phone.

Who We Are
BASTA, Inc. is Southern California's largest and non-profit organization dedicated to tenants' rights. BASTA's services include homelessness prevention in the form of aggressive representation tenants, both inside and outside of the courtroom. We also seek to eradicate slum housing conditions by working with other non-profit organizations, advocacy groups, and Los Angeles' Housing Department in order to bring buildings up to code and make them habitable to live in. BASTA only represents tenants (not landlords) and provides free legal advice and free consultations, but provides legal services for those facing eviction or bringing an affirmative lawsuit against the landlord.
