San Joaquin County Small Claims Legal Advisor
The Small Claims Advisor serves as a resource for parties considering, involved in, or following up on small claims cases. Service is provided over the phone. Advisors listen to and assist callers in clarifying their needs, then research answers to procedural questions or refer parties to other appropriate assistance. Advisors have a limited library of resource material, and are supervised and supported by experienced Center staff. It is critical for Advisors to clarify to all callers that NO LEGAL ADVICE is provided over the Advisor Line. The Advisor provides assistance with locating, understanding and filling out forms, information about time limits, step-by-step guidance through complicated procedures and referrals.
